I have this song somewhere on a CD… just stumbled upon it while surfing Youtube. Neil Young is truly fantastic… he is absolutely different performing live. It is amazing how much power and sincerity he can conjure with one beat-up guitar, a harmonica and his voice. The lyrics to this song are heartfelt and I totally relate to them too. Sometimes I wonder if it is my fault or just fate that keeps me from finding someone I can share my life with.

Neil Young – Heart of Gold

I want to live,
I want to give
I’ve been a miner
for a heart of gold.
It’s these expressions
I never give
That keep me searching
for a heart of gold
And I’m getting old.
Keeps me searching
for a heart of gold
And I’m getting old.

I’ve been to Hollywood
I’ve been to Redwood
I crossed the ocean
for a heart of gold
I’ve been in my mind,
it’s such a fine line
That keeps me searching
for a heart of gold
And I’m getting old.
Keeps me searching
for a heart of gold
And I’m getting old.

Keep me searching
for a heart of gold
You keep me searching
for a heart of gold
And I’m getting old.
I’ve been a miner
for a heart of gold.
