Looks: Beautiful darker yellow gold with a hint of red.

Nose: Mellow honey, sherry sweetness, slight hint of peat, airey sea. Adding water expands the sweetness.

Palate: Wonderfully peaty, warming and mellow sweetness, very long and pronounced seaweed and salt finish. Charcoal. Oak. Peppermint. Oily and rich on the tongue. Many-layered and very delicious; robust and engaging on the palate without losing balance.

A fantastic addition to my collection, a great contrast to the smooth Maccallan I have. Very happy with this purchase.

Pour: Mellow yellow gold.

Nose: Mature rounded sweetness, vanilla, with smoke that is on the cusp of breaking through.

Palate: Sea salt, oak is prominent. Seaweed, charcoal, peat. Warming. Tastes are rich and robust but not overwhelming. Friendly. Some vanilla and apple as one drinks more and the taste lingers in the mouth. Lingering peat.

This seems to have mellowed and matured somewhat; might be because I added more water than usual. Really like it.
