Pour: Slight amber gold.

Nose: Apple, hint of smoke, very clean, fresh and refined. With water, some dark fruit and vanilla. Sense of earth. Very enticing and pleasant yet refined nose.

Palate: Apple, pronounced sea salt, Atlantic waters and air. Modest, lingering wood smoke at the end; the peat is earthy. Dry.

Cultured, refined and enjoyable whiskey. As an Islay single malt, the peatiness is not as pronounced as other Islay whiskeys like Laphroaig. The balance between sweetness and the smoke is very well done. One of my favorite whiskeys.
