Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA Ale

Pour: Two-finger whitish head with large pronounced bubbles. Relatively clear, orangey-light copper body.

Nose: Very pronounced grapefruit, pine, citrus, lychee nose. Pineapple, orange, papaya, peach, sweet tropical fruits. Very intense scent for an American IPA. I look forward to tasting it.

Palate: The citrus, fruity, floral and herbal notes very lightly and subtlely sets in, before smoothly flowing and resolving into a gradually building hop bitterness that is dry, smooth and not overwhelming.

A very smooth and enticing beer. The chief attraction of this beer lies in the hyper-charged aromas and esters – robust, perfumey and lasting, wafting and circulating continuously in the nasal and oral cavity. I can smell the aroma even when it is placed away from my nose on the table in front of me. Almost wine-like.
